About Spin Cycle
Spin Cycle is a free online arena brawler with one rule: the only way to beat a robot is to throw it into a tornado. Humanoid AI robots march at you in waves. You grab the nearest one, hold to charge, and hurl it across the arena. Thrown robots bowl over other robots on the way, and two or more landing in the funnel at once earns a STRIKE. Chain kills fast for a combo multiplier up to 5×.
Every five waves a MEGABOT boss charges the arena, and every cleared wave lets you pick one of three upgrades. The tornado roams on its own and is not on your side. All the art is drawn on the fly and all 29 sound effects plus the soundtrack are synthesised in your browser, so there is nothing to download and nothing to load. It plays with keyboard and mouse or a gamepad, and saves your best score, best wave and lifetime stats locally.
How to Play Spin Cycle
- Move with WASD or the arrow keys, drag on the left half of the screen on a phone, or use the left stick on a gamepad. Aim with the mouse, a drag on the right half, or the right stick.
- Click or press E to grab the nearest Grunt or Scout (hold GRAB on a phone). Tanks and the Boss must be dashed into first: Space, Shift, right-click, or the DASH button.
- Hold the button to charge, then release to throw. Aim so the robot bowls through its friends on the way to the tornado; on a phone, drag on the right side to aim or let it auto-aim.
- Land two or more robots in the tornado within a moment for a STRIKE, and chain kills quickly to build your combo multiplier.
- After every wave pick one of three upgrades. When the Boss charges, stand near a wall, step aside, and grab it while it is dazed.
Tips & Tricks
- A robot you are holding or throwing blocks Zapper bolts. Use it as a shield while you close the distance.
- The dashed red ring around the tornado is the point of no return. Throw from outside it; the pull will do the rest.
- Upgrades stack. Throw power and combo window are worth more than they look once the waves get busy.
Spin Cycle FAQ
Does Spin Cycle work on phones or with a gamepad?
Yes to both. On a phone, drag on the left side of the arena to move and hold the GRAB button to grab and charge; release it to throw. Drag on the right side to aim, or skip that and the throw auto-aims at the tornado. DASH, pause and fullscreen buttons sit on the play area. Rotate to landscape for a bigger arena. With a controller: left stick moves, right stick aims, RT or RB grabs and throws, A or B dashes.
Why can't I grab the big robots?
Tanks and the MEGABOT boss are too heavy to lift while they are on their feet. Dash into a Tank to stun it, and let the Boss crash into a wall, then grab during the stun window.
Does the game save my progress?
Your best score, best wave, lifetime stats and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. Sign in with Google on the site if you also want your best run on the global High Scores page.
